Smart mobility in tunnels: a real efficiency gain

In the underground pressure tunnels of the power plants of ewz, the electricity utility of the city of Zurich, space is at a premium - not to mention light or comfort. Anyone working here must be able to rely on their equipment. This is exactly where the VMAX VX5 PRO comes into play.

Instead of bicycles, ewz relies on e-scooters in current projects - a decision that has proven its worth. "Riding and keeping your balance in the narrow tunnel, which is around 2.5 m wide, is much easier on an e-scooter than on a bike," says Peter Jörimann, who is responsible for construction facilities in Mittelbünden.

A project with depth - in the truest sense of the word

The VMAX VX5 PROs are currently being used for work at the Marmorera dam. There, they are supporting the team with relocations within the extensive facility.

The scooters were previously used on another project in the up to 12 km long pressure tunnel. There, they were carried on a construction site vehicle and used for the route to the respective work site - a safe and efficient solution in confined spaces. No noise, no effort - but a stable range and high level of safety.
