At VMAX, it makes us particularly proud to see how our scooters are becoming an integral part of our customers' everyday lives. A family from North Carolina (USA) shared their story with us: An e-scooter for their student son turned into a real lifestyle. From weekend outings to daily trips around campus, the scooters are now a fun, practical and indispensable part of their lives.
"Our e-scooters have really helped us rediscover and appreciate our small town more."-

In this interview, they talk about their favorite destinations, how the scooters have brought new life to their town and why they never want to be without them again.
Interview with a scooter-loving family from the USA
Jeanette, how often do you use your e-scooters and where do you go with them?
We love our e-scooters and take them everywhere! My husband now even plans trips based on how "scooter friendly" the destinations are. We regularly go to Washington D.C. - which is about 4.5 to 5 hours away from us - and have also been to several cities in Florida, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Longboat Key and St. Augustine.
Where do you live and what role do Scooter play in your everyday life?
We live right next to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. We ride the e-scooters around campus or to lunch and dinner almost every day. They have really helped us rediscover and appreciate our small town a lot more.
Family tip: E-scooters can make small towns a new experience and make everyday life easier.
How did you come up with the idea of buying a VMAX e-scooter?
In the beginning, we only ever rented e-scooters when we were out and about. Paying by the minute for four people was quite expensive. When my older son Evan was in his first year of college in Charlotte, we bought him his own scooter so that he could be more flexible on the road.
Why did you choose this particular model?
My husband did hours of research. It was important to him to have an e-scooter that could cope with hills, was somewhat rainproof, had a good battery life, was fast enough without being too fast - and most importantly: had brake lights, indicators and headlights.
How did the whole family come to own e-scooters?
After Evan got his scooter, he wanted to give us some for Christmas. I was totally against it at first - spending that much money on us at home seemed nonsensical. We have a car, so we would hardly use the scooters anyway, I thought. I couldn't have been more wrong!
"I didn't think we'd use them so much - now they're indispensable."-
Jeanette
How often do you use the e-scooters now?
So often that we've even bought an extra one have. That way, when Evan comes home for the holidays, he can still use a scooter here.
Do you have any fun traditions around your scooters?
Now we collect stickers from all the places we visit and stick them on our e-scooters. It just makes our trips so much more fun!
Have the scooters influenced other lifestyle choices, such as your car?
Yes, they have! A few weeks ago I had to buy a new car and knew it had to be big enough to carry four scooters in the trunk - even if Evan is at college most of the time.
How would you describe the role of e-scooters in your life today?
They have become 100% part of our lifestyle. We have sturdy locks, cell phone holders, cup holders, rear view mirrors - and even Apple AirTags hidden behind the headlights.
Have others around you been inspired by your scooter use?
Absolutely! Many neighbors and friends are now planning to buy e-scooters because they see us using them so often.
